Remembering Douglas Gardner

We are saddened to share the recent passing of our beloved Douglas Gardner, Volunteer Usher and Tour Guide extraordinaire. This marks the end of an era in our history.

Since 1987, Douglas’ charm, wit, and encyclopedic knowledge of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall were legendary in this organization and among the thousands of patrons and clients who benefitted from Douglas’ skill as an Usher and Tour Guide for our iconic buildings. In the early days of our Volunteer Committee, Douglas was a member of the Board, Coordinator for the Speakers Bureau series and played the piano at the Afternoon Tea for Seniors that was hosted by the Volunteers in the lobbies of Roy Thomson Hall.

We are deeply grateful for Douglas’ contribution to the Halls over the past 30 years and saddened by this great loss.
