Massey Hall presents
Famous for a sound at once stripped-back and lavish, Timber Timbre leverages front man Taylor Kirk’s sultry croon and imagistic lyrics to great effect. With Hot Dreams, the band's third album on Arts & Crafts, Kirk and collaborator Simon Trottier daub vibrant colour across Timber Timbre's ever-evolving palette, connecting arid western to plodding horror with the pomp of Hollywood phantasm.
Raised in Toronto and influenced by the Deep South, Cold Specks (a.k.a. Al Spx) draws on an intricate patchwork of experiences. One to watch since bursting onto the musical scene with 2012’s "doom soul" album I Predict a Graceful Expulsion, the young singer-songwriter last stunned Massey Hall audiences during the 2013 Luminato tribute to Joni Mitchell with her soulful rendition of "Black Crow."
Live at Massey Hall
Offering unparalleled insight into the country’s most storied live music venue, Live at Massey Hall honours a rich past and looks to an exciting future, drawing in audiences around the world with an investment in the concert-going experience. Live at Massey Hall concerts will be recorded, filmed, and edited into a series of 30-minute episodes, made up of concert night footage, to be later broadcast online. With tickets to the live events priced at a symbolic $18.94, a nod to the year of Massey Hall’s founding, Toronto audiences can have first-hand knowledge of what the legend is all about, and witness the emergence of Canada’s next generation of musical greats.
